The album was recorded in Cancún and San Carlos, Mexico from 2014 to 2016 and was produced by Rodrigo Cardenas. It started as a project for Juan Gabriel to sing to the people where he performed his concerts, a song about that city. When 11 songs were finished, Juan Gabriel decided that he should turn them into an album, so he wrote 11 more songs to have a total of 22 original works dedicated to his favorite cities in Mexico. All the vocals were recorded with Juan Gabriel while he was alive and, by May 2016, the 22 songs had already been recorded in demo form with the arrangements and vocals approved by him. The final album contains 24 songs because there are 2 versions of “Méxxico Es Todo” (short version and extended version) and there are 2 versions of “La Mera Mera” (Juan Gabriel version and Juan Gabriel ft. Los Tucanes de Tijuana version).
The album will be the culmination of a first-of-its-kind partnership with Viva Aerobus, which features a Juan Gabriel wrapped airplane that began flying on September 14, 2023. The airplane will fly for the duration of the year throughout the various Mexican cities that Juan Gabriel was deeply fond of. It will carry out more than 2,000 flights a year, spreading joy to hundreds of thousands of passengers and people who watch it fly through the skies, where Viva Aerobus lands. This aircraft is part of the youngest fleet in Mexico, made up of 77 Airbus with an average age of 5.2 years in service.
